Plesk Error: The user account was not found.

Applies to:

  • Plesk 10.x.x & 11.x.x with MySQL Database
  • Windows Server 2008 & Windows Server 2008 R2


When you try to change an email address password from a subscription (for example you receive an error:

Error: The user account was not found. This could happen if the user account was removed by someone else while you were changing its settings and you cannot change the mail password.


Login to your Server via RDP

Open Command Prompt

Login to MySQL Database (usually in %Plesk_admin%\MySQL\bin)

Run the following command:


UPDATE smb_users SET ownerId=(SELECT id FROM clients WHERE login='') WHERE email like '';


Replace "" with your actual domain name.
